Renieri Brunello di Montalcino 2003
A wine which is deftly crafted by Marco Bacci of Castello di Bossi fame. This wine exudes the ultimate in elegance, finesse without sacrificing the majesty of Brunello. Deep and Dark in color with a rather sophisticated bouquet, on the palate the wine is rich and full bodied, with a juicy core but with a firm backbone suitable for aging. This is one of those wines that you cannot deprive your palate of. Rated 90 points by “The Wine Spectator “ with a selling price of $100 per bottle… you can purchase this wine at Stew’s at 1/2 price.
Wine Spectator
Ripe and spicy, with cherry and floral character on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a vanilla and cherry aftertaste. The first Brunello from this producer--and outstanding in tricky vintage. Best after 2009.

Screw Cap

All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I rate wines using the 100-points scale. I have used this point system for close to 25 years. I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
